Department of scheduling

Plan the break, then play it

A game that is perfect for a lunch hour can be a nuisance in a two-minute gap. This page matches the line-up to the time you actually have and the screen you have to hand.

By the clock

Short gaps and long ones

Under five minutes

Tiny Fishing is the obvious choice: one cast is a complete thought. Fruit Party also works if you accept that a round may end before you are ready.

Five to fifteen minutes

Two or three levels of Candy Riddles, or a handful of Fortune Match quests. Both stop cleanly at the end of each board, so you can leave on the dot.

Background company

PLINKO! is the one game here built to tick over on its own. Once the auto-dropper is upgraded, it can sit in a corner of the screen while you get on with something else.

By the screen

Phone, tablet, laptop or desktop

On a phone

Both Candy Riddles and Tiny Fishing stand upright, so there is no turning the handset and no squinting. Fruit Party and PLINKO! run either way up. Fortune Match is not one CrazyGames lists for mobile, and on our phones the jewels felt small.

Play in the browser you normally use; there is nothing to download from an app store unless you choose to.

On a tablet

The extra room helps most with Fruit Party, where seeing the whole basket lets you plan where each fruit lands. Candy Riddles is comfortable in either orientation on an iPad.

On a laptop

The natural home for Fortune Match, which is controlled with the mouse. A trackpad does the job; a cheap mouse does it better. If the first load drags, close a few tabs.

On a desktop

Good for long PLINKO! sessions in a second window. A big screen also makes the peg triangle much easier to read when you start placing extra pegs.

Progress

What happens when you close the tab

These games keep your progress through CrazyGames, normally in the storage of the browser you played in. In practice that means:

  • Closing the tab and coming back later on the same device usually picks up where you left off.
  • Wiping your history and site data can erase that progress, and a private window forgets it the moment it closes.
  • Switching from phone to laptop starts you fresh, unless you sign in to a CrazyGames account on both.

Tiny Fishing and PLINKO! both reward time away: the Aquarium keeps earning in one, and the auto-dropper in the other keeps going while the tab stays open.

Connection

Signal, offline and the commute

All five games need a connection to load. Once loaded, the lighter ones cope with a wobbly signal, but none of them is designed for fully offline play, so we would not count on any of them in a tunnel.

On mobile data, Fortune Match is the heaviest first load in the line-up. Load it on Wi-Fi if you can.

Keeping the peace

Sound and battery

Mind the speaker

PLINKO! in particular has cheerful landing sounds. In a shared office, mute the tab (right-click it in most desktop browsers) or keep the phone on silent.

Spare the battery

Dim the screen, close other heavy tabs and avoid leaving an idle game running on a phone that is not plugged in. Twenty minutes of PLINKO! on our test Android cost noticeably more charge than the same time in Candy Riddles.

Spare the data

If you are on a capped plan, the first load is the expensive part. After that, short sessions use little.
