Privacy notice

The short version: we collect almost nothing, we use it only to answer you and keep the site running, and you can ask us to show or delete it at any time.

Who looks after your data

The controller is AJN Business Solutions, Suite 4, 18 Tib Street, Manchester M4 1SH. For anything in this notice, email [email protected] or ring 0161 496 0729. We process personal data under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018.

What we hold, and why

When you use the post room form

We receive the name and email address you type, the tray you choose and your message. We use them only to read and reply to you. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering correspondence; if your note is a request about your data, the basis is our legal obligation to respond.

Technical records

To stop the form being flooded, we keep a one-way scrambled version of your IP address alongside the time of each message, for one hour, in a file only the server can read. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (IP address, page requested, browser type, time) for security, generally for no more than 30 days. The basis is our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe.

In your browser

A session cookie protects the form against forged submissions and disappears when you close the browser. A small local storage entry, ajn_consent, records your answer to the cookie memo. The cookie notice lists both.

What we do not do

  • No analytics, advertising or tracking scripts run on this site.
  • We do not build profiles, make automated decisions about you or sell data to anyone.
  • We do not add your address to a newsletter. There is no newsletter.

How long we keep it

Messages and our replies are deleted twelve months after the conversation ends, unless we need them longer to deal with a complaint or a legal claim. Rate-limit records expire after an hour; server logs after about a month.

Who else sees it

Only our UK web host and email provider, who process data on our instructions under written contracts. If either uses servers outside the UK, they rely on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Agreement. Public bodies see your data only if a legal duty forces us to hand it over.

Leaving for CrazyGames

Game buttons take you to CrazyGames, a separate business with its own privacy policy and cookies. Once you are there, AJN has no control over and no access to what is collected. Please read their policy if you plan to sign up.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, limit our use of it, or object to that use altogether. Where we rely on legitimate interests, you can object at any time and we will stop unless we have a compelling reason. We reply within one month and never charge for a reasonable request.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Children

This site is written for adults planning their breaks. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13; a parent who finds their child has messaged us can have the note deleted.

Keeping it current

When this notice changes, the date at the top changes with it, and anything significant will also be noted in the front-desk log.
